Golf has become one of the most booming sports in the Czech Republic. Although the Golf club in Karlovy Vary was established in 1904 and the Golf course in Mariánské Lázně in 1905, the majority of new golf courses is created in the present period. The 18-hole golf courses, such as Prague-Karlštejn, Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně, are located in beautiful landscapes and offer a nice combination of superb lodging and dining with great golf experience.
Praha Karlštejn Golf Club The golf course was opened in 1993. The course was designed by Canadian duo Les Furber and Jim Eremko. The sensitive way they set the golf course amid beautiful scenery with the majestic Karlštejn, the castle of Czech kings, forming a romantic backdrop, has created a unique course. The wooded hilly landscape, with limestone outcrops and rich flora and fauna, is an oasis of peace and quiet, and yet is only a few minutes drive from central Prague. The broken terrain, natural gorges, two lakes and many sand traps create a very pleasant enviroment that will satisfy even the most demanding of players.
The architects designed the course as “easy bogey but difficult birdie”, with the result that players with very different handicaps can play the course. Length: 5880m

Karlovy Vary Cihelny Astoria Golf Resort In May 2001, after its demanding construction a new 18-hole golf course had its celebratory opening in Cihelny by Karlovy Vary. Planning documentation was drawn up by the world-famous Gary Player Design Company. This prominent golfing entity created a “Scottish” style golf course here, which is a more technical style golf course with a total par 70. The area also includes an 18 hole Honey course (pitch&putt) with a par 44, a Putting Green and a covered Driving range, which, along with training bunkers make up one of the largest training grounds in Europe.
At the beginning of 2002, ASTORIA Invest s.r.o. became the owner of this golf course in Cihelny. The new owneręs intention was to ensure the superb quality of the golf course and also of the buildings and accessories connected with it, along with, of course, providing first class, comprehensive services for all its clients. In the same year, investment works began for developing the missing background for the course.
At the beginning of the 2003 season a new clubhouse was opened after being built extremely quickly, and Cthe ihelny golf course could rank among the most high quality and most comprehensive premises in the Czech republic. This is attested by the fact that the European junior championship took place right here in the same season.
The golf course in Cihelny is located in the beautiful countryside of western Bohemia, and its creators put it right into the scenic valley of the Tepla stream in the Protected landscape area of Slavkovsky forest. The decision to locate the course in this valley proved to be very wise with regard to the weather conditions needed for playing golf. Length: 5590 m

Mariánské Lázně Royal Golf Club The opening of the Marianske Lazne golf course was conducted by His Majesty King Edward VII on August 21st, 1905. He solemnly cut the inaugural ribbon, opening the new golf course after which he signed his name in the memorial book of the course with a gold pen to become the first foundation member of the Marianske Lazne Golf Club. The golf club at Marianske Lazne is the only golf course in Central Europe with such a distinguished past. The King of England loved visiting Marianske Lazne and made a total of 10 trips to the golf course, the last in 1909..
The American General Patton whose forces liberated western Bohemia had to search personally for his staff officers who regardless of the war situation had fallen in love with golf at Marianske Lazne.
After years of neglect when golf during the socialist era in former Czechoslovakia barely survived, 1989 brought a speedy revival. The management of the golf course returned once again to the hands of the Marianske Lazne Golf Club. The historical clubhouse has undergone a thorough renovation, which preserved all its original romantic architectural elements. The presence of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and many celebrities and dignitaries from around the world at its professional tournaments bear witness to the prestige of the Marianske Lazne Golf Club. The Marianske Lazne Golf Club is not only a sports but a cultural centre as well. The greatest moment in our history came in 2003, when HM Elisabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom, has granted the Golf Club in Marianske Lazne the right to use the title Royal Golf Club. In 2005, it has been a great honour for us that the Royal Golf Club Marianske Lazne could welcome the visit of HRH The Prince Edward. Karlovy Vary Golf Club The Golf Resort Karlovy Vary Inc. was founded in 1996 as a joint effort by leading local companies with the objective of providing sports and leisure activities focused around golf. After the approval of the competitively selected business plan submitted by the Golf Resort Karlovy Vary Inc. to the City, long-term agreements were negotiated for the lease of the City - owned land on which the golf course sits. Since that time, the corporation has been the investor and manager and since 2004 the owner of the complex. The course underwent a rapid renovation, which included the building of a new clubhouse, an irrigation system, and new tees. New parking places were added and upgrades were made to the grass surfaces, the drainage system and the watercourses. All mechanical and technical equipment was also brought up to date.
